Kit was received in a timely manner, well packaged and accurately designed. Some of the directions might be a little awkward to some users but manageable. I have assembled mine and had some low level test flights (about 1 to 2 inches) and am looking forward to gaining altitude and experience. Come on down Mark and give me some pointers.

Have approx 100 flights-mostly night flights with additional led lights with remote off - on switch. A great value, easy, and inexpensive,
repair. Added more led lights using carbon fibre strips between motor mounts. A real eye catcher on Dauphin Island Al.right on the beach. I am 82 years old and able to handle the Hornet with ease. Looking forward to replacing the 430 Controller with the 450. (Posted on 7/23/2013)

  4. Most fun quad/multi I have! Review by Phil

First 2Dog's service is the BEST, second to none!, the Hornet (mine has the 430 board) is my favorite multi (& I have quite a few different ones!), it's very easy to fly, performs superbly, acrobatics are blast, it amazes everyone at my club how it flies, it's by far my favorite aircraft to fly at this point, out of planes, helis & other multi's, yes, I LIKE IT!
Now, the 430 FC DOES NOT have stabilization so a beginner should be careful if flying w/the 430 FC, the new Hornets have the 450 FC which has stabilization so that's the route to go for a beginner (I have not personally flown a 450FC frame yet so can't comment), I do love the way the 430/hornet flies/performs, it's very reasonable price wise, easy to assemble & parts etc are usually available quickly from 2Dog. Without stabilization you probably will crash while learning, buy extra arms, arm circuit boards & a few mainboards, be VERY careful w/the mainboards after a crash or even a "bump" as I've found that about any impact of an arm runs the risk of causing a connection problem on the mainboard, if you get 'cut out" of a motor or an apparent intermittent connection after a crash, regardless of how minor, check the mainboard as the arm connections are VERY sensitive, other than this you can't go wrong w/this quad! I just finished my first flight, a lot more power than I am used to but very graceful and easy to fly. I have been looking for a good brushless quad for a while now, and this is it. Great service from 2Dogsrc will definitely buy from you again. Easy to build and works well with my Dx6i, as long as you remember to remove the binding plug before trying to initialize the ESC-Thanks Mark. (Posted on 5/17/2013)

Awesome-Super quality and very durable.I am 81 yrs old and have been flying full scale and R/C for 50 years. I fly at night quite frequently and am amazed at the easy orientation. 2Dog folks are great help. Getting 10 minutes out of a 3s 3300. (Posted on 4/4/2013)

When I first saw this quad, my initial thought was that is was a very good quad for a very good price. After flying it yesterday, I can say it is an excellent quad, and one of the favorite hobby purchases ever!

The packaging, the manual, the attention to detail all made a very good first impression. The assembly went well, although it took me well over an hour. Of course I usually take my time with these type things as there is no need to get in a big hurry. I used a fairly large Phillip’s head screwdriver, and did not have any issues getting the screws in. The English translation in the manual was good, the YouTube video was even better.

It flies beautifully, and the lights are awesome. I did my maiden at night and had no trouble with orientation, not to mention the lights are a visual treat. The stock controller board works great, plus there are several options available if you decide to upgrade.

For aerial photography, I’m using my little keychain camera for now with good results, but will order the camera mount as soon as it is available, and will most likely get a GoPro.

All in all, a well thought out design, high quality build, and a lot of bang for your buck. (Posted on 3/29/2013)

  10. Good, but… Review by Jason

The quad flies great. I did ding it a bone because the manual is not the easiest to follow, and is wrong in some spots. Also, the screws are really difficult to install. Once I got past that, it flies great. My maiden was with a 3300 mAh battery in 20 mph winds and was able to keep it in about a five foot circle hover. I am a beginner, but felt like a pro with this quad. (Posted on 3/7/2013)

I order my Quad after seeing a video posted by Mark, the part that I liked was that you could build the Quad in the time to charge a Battery Pack. the instruction are real clear and easy to follow. (my only issue is that you have to have Popeye sized forarms to tighten all the little screws. The build is simple and I used my DX7s radio and the orange Recever from HK setup is easy and after a quick call to Mark (yes he talks to his customers) Thanks my Friend I was up and flying. on my Radio I added 30% expo to both my Ailerons and Elevator sticks to make it softer perfect for a first time pilot. All we need now is a height hold gyro and this would be a Super Quad. Great price Now waithing on the Camera Mount.... Thanks Mark.... (Posted on 3/3/2013)

I am actually the owner of 2dogrc,, but I thought I would post a review since I have flown in and we have the first one in the US! I have never flown Quads before and can hover a helicopter. Don and I assembled this in about 40 minutes and were in the back minutes later! It is easier to fly at night because the LED's really help with orientation. It is much more stable then a micro helicopter like a Blade CX. I flew it on one of our Mad Dog 2200 11.1V 35C batteries and got 10 minutes of flight time. (Posted on 12/1/2012)
